Leanne Day 6

I knocked on the door and let myself in.

I heard Leanne's joyful voice.

"Good morning! I'm in the bathroom! I am wondering if you can put the note on the door, and the note is on the kitchen table."

"OK!"

I went in the kitchen and found the note.

"Reiki treatment is in session.
Please do not dusturb.
Thank you."

Reiki works with or without the disturb. But it is much nicer if she can just fall right
in to the relaxation state. This note is a great idea !

She came out from the bathroom, walking by herself, I could not see
the walker around her at all.

The walker was there by her bed, and it seemed like it was not touched
in the morning. Few laundries were hanged on the walker.

That's a good thing!
Thank you walker for carrying her laundries!

She is getting stronger and stronger everyday, it is obvious.

I am so grateful to be able to do the Reiki treatment everyday for her.  Reiki brings
a benefit with just one treatment for a minor ailment like cuts, bruises, burns etc.
But the chronic illness needs the constant treatment.

Especially the cancer treatment needs to be at least 5 times/week, if not everyday.

Today is the Day 6.

I started the treatment from the head as usual.

Again, I had a strange feeling. My right arm was started to shake so bad, and I am pretty
sure Leanne was feeling it too.

Every treatment is different, even though when I am woking on a same person, in a same way. Sometime shaking hands or arm happens during the treatment.
Usually, when the shaking hands happens, it is when the major stress is releasing
from that spot where my hand is.

In her case, the stress was releasing from the base of her scull.
I thought,
"Ah, the stress is releasing from the pineal gland."

She mentioned that she could not fall asleep the night before. Maybe that is the reason
that pineal gland was under the stress this morning.

It is an uncontrollable shake with lots of shivering feeling in my body that I have to take
few deep breaths. For some people it looks 'weird'.  But I don't care if it looks
weird or not!  It's working anyway!

After the uncontrollable shake was stopped, I moved my hands to her spine and hip.

Well, strange feeling again.

I thought,
"Miss Reiki's busy day today. "

The upper outside parts of my left arm was started to twitch, uncontrollably. It is the exact spot that Leanne has the bone metastasis, but on my arm.

This also happens sometime, and it is usually very uncomfortable.  It is just like the not stop twitches on your eyes, when you are in lack of sleep.

I wondered,
"Why is it happening on my left arm on that exact spot?"
then I thought,
"Oh, this is the exact spot where Leanne has the bone metastasis! Reiki must be
working really hard on her arm now!"

I am curious to hear how she felt on her arm.

Leanne Day 5

I knocked on the door and let myself in.

"Come in!" the happy voice welcomed me, and there she is.
Leanne was standing in a kitchen, I guess she was finishing up her morning shake.

"Where is the walker?"  I thought.

The walker was in a far corner away from her. It looked like looking out for her from the distance.

I thought of how 'the walker' feels.
It works very hard and faithful for the master when the master is in need. The walker
is happy when it is working hard.
The walker is also happy when it is not being used, because it is a good thing when the
master does not need the walker.

Such a humble thing.

Anyways,  before I shared the strange feeling of the Day4 treatment, as if my hand was grabbing onto a big pimple and squeezing a pus out, she wanted to share her experience.

She said that the area where my hand was doing Reiki has been sore and tender.

I said Reiki is working on your muscle to flush the toxin out, and sometime it causes
a discomfort.  Not to worry !!

Every time when I do Reiki, I learn something new.

I am learning such a important thing right now.

Leanne Day 4

Day 4

Do you want to hear how Leanne was waiting for me today?

She was in a kitchen just coming out from the bathroom and finishing up her morning shake, and walking with or without the walker.

She was walking a small distance without the walker !  She still has the walker close by
just in case, but mostly walking on her own !

Do you remember she was not able to put any weight on her one leg just 3 days ago?

This is amazing.

It is such an honour to be able to witness the each improvement.

Past three treatments were bit hard for me as I had to reach to her
body with my body stretching awkwardly.

So I was more creative this time.
I adjust the hight of the bed few times depends on where I am sitting, also I used
a pillow to support myself.

What a difference!

Why didn't I do that sooner?
I learned, again, that it is VERY important for me to be comfortable while I am
giving the treatment.  Well, I learn in the hard ways, always.

Anyways, I started the treatment from the head, arm, spine and the hip. The treatment
time was about 70 minutes this time.

Well, it was strange.

I slided my hands under her body so then I could reach to her spine and hip. 5~6minutes
after, I felt like my hand that is close to her spine is inside of her body.

I could feel her back muscle and organ were surrounding my thumb and index fingers.
I had to open my eyes to see if my hand is still flat under her body because it really felt
like my fingers were pointing up and trying to grab onto something.

I sometime experience this kind of feeling, but this time was so strong.

It was as if my hand is grabbing something inside of her body, and my thumb and index
fingers were pinching her muscle inside and squeezing a pus out from her body.

At the same time, she was in a deep sleep, too.

I thought,

"Something for sure working right. Let's just keep doing it."

When I finished the treatment, she looked very peaceful just closing her eyes,
so I left her home quietly.

Leanne Day 2~3

Day 2

I met her last night for the first time, and this is the next day morning.
Only 12hours later.

I knocked on the door and open the door to let myself in.
It is strange to get into someone's house without waiting for someone to
open the door, but that was our arrangement.

She was sitting up on the chair and waiting for me.

"Oh! You are sitting upright today! How are you feeling?"

"I'm OK."  with a gentle smile.

"How did you sleep last night?"

"I slept good."

Not too much difference from the Reiki treatment last night, but that's OK.
Reiki works from inside, so the last thing we will see is the improvements
on the surface.

I did not expect too much improvement from just one treatment.  The more serious
the condition is, the more treatments are needed to see the difference.

She needed some help to settle down in her bed. I held both of her legs tightly, and
with "1,2,3" we swing her legs onto the bed.

It seems like any twisting or lifting movement hurts her...

I started the Reiki treatment from the head, arm and the hip for total 80minutes.

There were less distraction than last night, so she was able to relax longer.

Day 3

I knocked on the door and let myself in.

Woa, she was standing in a kitchen and having her morning shake.

"Well, its nice to see you moving around!"

She said
"Just a little bit with the walker. It's so nice to move around a little bit."

She was walking slowly with the walker, and that is a big improvement since
2 days ago.
She was not able to put any weight on her right leg, but now she is able to
walk slowly with the support.

Good, good !

I started the Reiki treatment from the head, but spend less time on the head and
more time on her arm, spine and a right hip.

This time, she requested my hands to slide under her spine where the bone metastasis
are happening.

The treatment lasted for 60minutes. A bit shorter side, but that's OK.

I went home with excitement,

"You know what !  Leanne was walking today!"

The best part of Reiki is that the more you do Reiki, the more you see the improvements.

In Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi's DVD, she said,
"I look forward to seeing what will happen the next day."

Oh, yes, this is the exact feeling.
" What will happen to Leanne next day!"

Leanne Day 1

I had a phone call on Sunday afternoon.

"Hello, my name is Leanne. I got your name from my friend, and both of my children
go to the same school where your children go.  I am wondering if Reiki works
for my condition."

I can not remember her words in detail, but she seems to be in a serious condition.

- Fighting a breast cancer.
- Just got out from the hospital.
- Isn't able to put any weight on one of her leg, so difficult to walk around.

I thought,
"My goodness, she is facing to something really serious, but her voice is
so calm and peaceful...."

I had no plan on the same evening, so I said,
"I can come tonight if you would like to ?"

It seemed like a big surprise to her,
"T, Tonight ???" but she was grateful.

When I got there, she was in the bed, the hospital bed, in their living room. She turned her head towards me and we both greeted each other.
She looked familiar to me as I have probably walked by her when I dropped off/picked up
my children from the school.

She was in more serious condition than I had imagined. She explained that she is in
a stage 4, cancer metastasis to the bone, and that is causing the pain when
she tried to walk.

I explained to her what is Reiki, how Reiki works, and I mentioned to her that
we both need a good commitment for this treatments, everyday, if not 5 days/week.

I started Reiki on her head, and moved my hands on her shoulders.  Her left arm
is being very weak, so I wanted to reach to the spot, but I couldn't.

Doing Reiki treatment in the hospital, or on the hospital bed is one of the big challenge
for Reiki practitioners.
The hospital bed is,,,
-Hard to go around the bed so easily
-Too wide to reach to the body
-The head/base boards are sticking up high,so it is hard to reach to the head from the head side, or feet side.
-Hard to tuck the knees under the bed, so I have to stretch my arms to the body

These are some of the main difficulties of doing Reiki on the hospital beds.

But there are few good things about the hospital bed.
Automatic recliner, and we can change the hight of the bed, too.

Also, the good thing is, I am flexible !!!
If I can not tuck my knees under the bed, I open up my legs 180 degree to get closer
to the bed!  Hah, my gymnastics background comes handy!

For her first reiki treatment, the phone rang few times, dish washer was going,
Christmas music was on, her two curious children were peeking
from up the stairs, so she was in-out the sleeping and awaking.

Anyways, after we finished her 1st Reiki treatment, she was amazed.

She said,
"I could feel the energy going around inside of the body, and hitting the certain spots.
It sounds strange, but sometime my arm felt achy because of the energy flow. I have never
experienced something like this."

I felt like there is a hope.

continue to Day 2.

Jealous

Jealous.

I think jealous is one of the worst negative emotion that we can have. It can cause
unnecessary arguments and misunderstanding.

Jealous happens, because one thinks the other one is better or has more.

It happens because one compares with others.

I always make a point to my children,
"If you constantly compare yourself with others, you will be either jealous and
miserable because you have less than them, or you will be snobby because you
have more than them. So focus on what you have and be grateful, OK?"

I'm not sure if they understand or not, but I hope one day they will understand.

I think,,,

Jealous happens because you are forgetting what you have.
Jealous would not happen if you learn how to look at the positive side, I think.

Life is not a competition but contentment.

Just my thought :) .

1 Dec 2011

40 years old

40years old.

It has been over a month since I turned 40, and it is a big surprise to me that I am 40.

I don't know which is correct to say "I live that long?" or "I'm only 40."

For me, turning 40 is a big matter as I grew up listening that my dad passed away
when he was 39.  I grew up believing 39 years old is "old enough to die".

I did not really understand what was death, but I knew my family structure was
different than other family.

Anyways, there is a little story.

I remember when I was young, my mom would tell me she is 35years old whenever
I asked her age.

One day, I brought back a paper work from school that my mom had to fill up
all the information about her. Full name, address, phone number, medical history,
date of birth and of course the actual age.

She wrote down "42".

I said to her, "No mom, you said you are 35."

She said to me "Mari-chan, I am actually 42."

I said "But,,, but,,,, you said you were 35, why the age jumped so much?"

She said "Sorry that I confused you, but I am actually 42."

I bursted into crying.

I said, "Nooooooooo !  You are old!  Are you going to die soon?"

Even though I did not really understand about a death, I knew death is
something like "disappearing" and I was scared that my mom would disappear, too.

When I found out that she was actually 42, I was really shocked that she was older
than my father's age. I tried to figure out that what if she lives so long and
what if she ever meets my father again, she would be so old and my father wouldn't recognize her.

My mom was the super optimistic person, and she would joke around with me,
"O,K,,, what should we do then!  Should I disguise to look young?"
and she would joke around with her friends
"When I told Mari my actual age, she bursted into cry~! She thinks I'm really old!"

But in my head,

"But mom, I am serious."

I was quite slow when I was young, and usually my mom did not take my serious
conversation seriously. She would usually say
"Oh, you were dreaming again."
"Oh, you are so creative!"

Once I had a high fever while a visit to my grand father, and resting by myself
in his living room. I was watching Olympic game, and caught the moment of
Japan gained a gold medal in swimming!!

I got up with my high fever to tell that Japan got a gold medal to the relatives
who were having a dinner gathering across the street.
My mom said,
"Mari-chan, were you dreaming again?"
That time, I said, "No it wasn't a dream, its real!"
They finally believed me when they saw the TV news later on.

Anyways, return to the story.

Later in my life, my sister turned 39, and I was worried that she might
not make it through.

Then my brother in law turned 39, and I was worried that he might not
make it through.

Then my husband turned 39, and I was worried that he might not make
it through.

Then my other sister turned 39, and I was really worried that she might not
make it through.

Then I turned 39, then turned 40.

I thought in my head
"Well, that was easy."

People say 39 years old is young, but I really did not understand until
I actually turned 39.

I finally understand with my 'body' that 39 years old is actually "too young to die."
I also finally understand with my 'soul' that it does not matter how long you live,
it is about how you live.

I read books about life and death, I read inspirational quotes etc.  I thought I understood
the meaning behind it.  But I realized that if I'm only understanding with my
'mind', I am not understanding completely.

The true understanding is that when I understand with my "soul".

39years is a short life as a father of 3 small daughters. But my father's role has been continuing after 35years as he taught me the important teaching that he might not have been able to teach if he is alive.

It is not about how long you live,
but how you live.

The longer we live, the more we tend to accumulate ego. We tend to look
down on younger people, because of the ego of being better.

In fact, the teaching of Reiki, we suppose to peel off the negative emotions
layers after layers. That means, the longer we live, the less ego we should have.

The less ego we have, the better the world would be.

I think, this makes sense.
