Thank you card

Ever since I was very young, I always like to write
hand written letters, not typing.

Since I moved to Canada 1999, I started to own my own computer, and the hand writing opportunity went down dramatically.

Just about everything can be done online, even greeting cards.

I still like receiving e-card for Birthday and special occasions, but I like the moment when I found the personal regular mail in my mail box.

"Yeah ! The Snail Mail" !

P.S. Sorry Jodi, my niece, she has a snail phobia as bad as my caterpillar phobia.

I love the Christmas and New Year season, because I find more hand written cards in my mail box !!!

However, the card I love the most is the

"Thank you card"

We send out Christmas cards, New Year cards, Birthday cards because it is a special occasion.  It is VERY NICE to receive those cards, but I like the fact that Thank You cards come spontaneously and come from deep in their heart.

When I think back, I rarely received Thank you card until I came to Canada.

In Japan I have many good old friends, wonderful sisters and relatives, but I don't think I had done anything significant to be able to receive a Thank You card.

But in 2006, when I received a Thank you card from a group of my friends who were involved in "Yack and Snack in Chilliwack",
I could not help crying in gratitude.

This is the actual Thank You card, my treasure.
Card filled with words...

I came to Canada in 1999, all by myself. I did not know anyone, I had no friend.  I was a 28 years old responsible young adult, still it was challenging sometime.

When I received this Thank you card, all my memories came back to me from the time I was lonely, struggling to get my life back together again, looking for the reason why I am here, etc.

I deserved a "Thank you card" ?!?!
and it is filled with hand written English.

It meant a lot for me.
That moment when I read the card, I felt like

"I think I am back..."

By the way, this group was introducing how to cook the home made meal for better health.   It was sponsored by "Success by 6" and Chilliwack Family Place.

For example, instead of buying a spaghetti sauce, we cooked together to show how easy to cook home made sauce and it is healthier! (We did home made pizza, sushi, quiche etc.)

I was one of the leading person, but I had to pull myself out from this group due to having a new born baby (3rd one), starting a new business, and my life became way too busy.

I felt very bad, but I had to choose myself at that time.

My friends who were in "Yack and Snack in Chilliwack", if you read this blog, I would like to use this space to say Thank You.
It is my precious memory.

By reading Mr. Masaru Emoto's water research, the word "Thank You" has a positive energy,

so I have all my Thank You cards on the wall to have positive energy in my home!

Thank you card collection!

Thank you for reading my blog !!!

Are you a Rock, a Tree or a Waterfall ?

We had the last Reiki Share evening of 2010 in Vancouver on Dec 7th!

photo is from the summer 2010

Oh, it was so so wonderful and I just LOVE being in the space with other Jikiden Reiki friends!

There was 17 enthusiastic Jikiden Reiki practitioners and one lucky guest!  The energy in the room was just amazing, as usual.

I don't think there is so many space that make you feel "Good" just by sitting in a room.

I often hear from people who joined this group that energy in this group is particulary strong.

"I agree, and disagree."

I agree because I have joined many different Reiki share group, but there is something to do with this group that the energy flow is in harmony, compare with other group.

Maybe because I know everyone in this group, instead of being a stranger.

I disagree because the energy source is the same in different Reiki group, so the power of the energy should not be any stronger.

But I know the reason !!!

Because Jikiden Reiki practitioners are taught not to have any intention to heal others during the treatments, but we are taught to be

無心〜Mushin」
Think nothing

Reiki practitioners who tend to think,
"I hope Reiki works for this sick lady.  I hope she feels better by my Reiki session. I am going to try hard to give her more energy."
they tend to use their own energy and deplete themselves.

Practitioner who has clear mind and are nutral and don't even think of healing work,
they stay strong.

Reiki teaching is very much based Shinto teaching.

Shinto is a nature based teaching in Japan, and it is not a religion.

Thousands years ago in Japan, when people get sick, they go in to the nature to heal themselves.

If a sick person was living close to a forrest, they went in a forrest to find a biggest tree and lay there until they get better.
The tree branches reach out to the sky,
and the roots grab into the earth.
Without thinking,
tress are exchanging energy with
Sun and earth and purify themselves.

If a sick person was living close to the ocean, they went to the beach to find a biggest rock and lay there until they get better.
The Rocks are part of the earth.
They charge up the energy with the Sun and
connect themselves to the earth for
 grounding and purifying.

If a person was living close to a waterfall, they went to the bottom of the waterfall and stay there until they get better.
Rain drops are collected and make a waterfall.
It is blessings from the Universe flowing into earth.

These are the Shinto ways of healing.

Nature always has flow, and this flow between the Universe and the Earth is the energy for Reiki treatments.

Healing energy does not flow out from the Reiki practitioners, but practitioners are "the pipe" between the Universe and the receiver.

As a Reiki practitioner,

Are you a big rock that is charged up and
radiates grounding energy ?

Are you a big tree that is  supporting the mother earth
with the strong roots and breathing in and out pure energy?

Are you a waterfall that collect every blessings from
the Universe and spread the blessings to the entire earth.

I always imagine, I am a big tree that has branches reach to the every stars in the sky, and healthy roots are connected to the core of the mother earth.

It is very grounding.

Blink for Yes Part 2 "True healer"

I usually wants to write this blog in a fun way that my children will be able to enjoy reading when they are older.

Today, I am a bit serious.

Because, I had an amazing weekend.

But before I get into the main story,
I want to write about my thought.

Today's blog is continued from "Blink for Yes".

There are so many people call themselves "healers", but my question is
"Are they really healers?", and " How can they be? "

I understand other people call them "healer", but introuce themselves as "healer" questions me.

I believe that true healing occurs from inside of each person.

As long as the healing work is coming from out side,
it is still not a true healing.

Receiving treatments like massage therapy, chiropractic,
physio therapy, reiki, reflexology, surgery etc, etc,  is very important part of ones healing path, but I think the true healing starts at the moment

when we realized that we are the healer for themselves,
when we realized that cured is not the only answer,
when we accepted the condition as a chance to grow,

and then,
when we realized that
death is part of healing,it's not the end but the beginning.

I teach Jikiden Reiki.  I offer Reiki treatments. I do massages.
But I question myself that if I can call myself a healer.

 "No."

Not that I don't have a confidence, I have great feedbacks with my Reiki sessions and I just LOVE doing Reiki.

But if I introduce myself "I am a healer.", I feel like I put myself above from people, and I don't feel good.  I feel like I am being egoistic.

I do not call people who visits me for a Reiki session "client", I do not call people who takes my Jikiden Reiki class "student".

If I call them "Client", I feel like I took their responsibility for their own health away from their hands.

If I call them "Student", I feel like "How can I call them students, while I am still a student."

Maybe I feel this way because Reiki treatments come from the Universe, not me.

If this thought is right or wrong, its just my thought.

Anyways,

 I had an amazing weekend.

It has been already 1 week,
but still affecting me.

I hope this lasts forever,
and it will.

I met a true healer.

For me, the true healer is the one who can heal people from their soul level without telling anything, but being an example.

True healer is the one who can make people realize to trust the Universe and everything is perfect even the life looks a bit rough.

Emily is diagnosed as Leigh's disease, it is a type of "Mitochondreal Disease".

She is on a wheel chair, no walk, no talk, her communication is through her blink for yes, big smile, and telepathic.

Now, she discovered the way to show her love and appreciation for the people around her.

Reiki,
the most simple,
beautiful,
intelligent way of
the treatment technique.

Everyone in the world has to see Emily's big smile when she realized that its her turn to GIVE Reiki not RECEIVE.

Emily is giving Reiki treatment with her mom's support

Do you see the infinite love from her mom's eyes to Emily.
Her mom support during the treatment while
her dad give a Reiki session for his classmate.

Using massage table to give a Reiki session can be challenging for her as her hand can reach so far.
If someone sit really close to her or put arm on her lap, it is easy for her to give reiki session.

Emily's cold hand heated up quickly during her Reiki session.

Her weak muscle tone does not allow her to move her body at all to adjust her sitting or laying position.  She needs constant adjustment by care givers, 24/7.

We complain because we can not stop coughing in the night when we catch a cold.

Can you imagine we can not even cough
when there is mucus stuck on our throat.

I grew up with my sister who is a down's syndrome, and I met so many people who has wonderful soul with physical challenge.

I will write about the life learning with my sister later in this blog.

By knowing how hard would be the family with a child with physical challenge, I am just amazed by how her parents respect Emily's wish to learn Jikiden Reiki, and being there to learn with her.

Emily is the true healer, for me.

She is the one

who can heal people from their soul level

without telling anything, but

being an example.

and you know what,

'I have no complains.'

Blink for Yes

I am teaching Jikiden Reiki Shoden (Level 1) class today and tomorrow !

I just LOVE teaching Jikiden Reiki classes, and, of course,
giving Reiki treatments.

One of the participant for today's class is severery disabled. She was told from her doctor that she would not live until 3 years old, but now she is 26 years old.

She is on a wheel chair with a head support and good padding around legs and arms.

She can not walk nor talk, but her mind and understanding is completely clear, if not, clearer than many other adult.

She is going to be a perfect Reiki practitioner for sure!!!

She has this "Zen" moment in her mind.

The way she makes communication is

"Blink" for "Yes"

People around her make conversation with her by asking questions and get answers from her blinking.

If she does not blink, that's means "no", so people keep asking question until she gives her

"Yes."

I only spent 5 hours with her today, but I felt like my telepathic communication skill was greatly stimulated.

We should adopt more of this
telepathic communication skill,
so then this world will become more
compassionate and loving place!

I felt so small today.

She needs help for every movements.

She does not complain, she only ask us to ask her some question
so then she can solve her problem.

I can move my hand to flick off a mosquito,
I can move my butt if I sit too long.
I can walk to anywhere I want to go,
I can talk and tell my feeling.
I have everything I need.

But, I still complain when I have
a little headache or even
a paper cut.

Well, Mari, I have got lots to learn for my life.

Thank you for the wonderful teaching today.
